Ricardo Ferreira
VFX Supervisor - Board Manager at VES UK
Ricardo is an award-winning digital compositor with over 15 years of experience in the film industry. He was part of the visual effects teams behind Interstellar and Ex Machina, both of which won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Over the years, Ricardo has worked across feature films and commercial projects with leading studios including Industrial Light & Magic, DesignStudio, Cinesite, Prime Focus, MPC, Double Negative, Trixter, and Polarmedia.
Before entering the world of VFX, Ricardo earned a master’s degree in Architecture and worked as a 3D artist specializing in architectural visualization using 3ds Max, Maya, and V-Ray. That blend of technical precision and artistic vision continues to shape his approach to visual effects.
Ricardo also holds a PhD in Science and Technology of the Arts and serves on the board of the Visual Effects Society UK.
Omar Morsy
Animation Supervisor
Omar Morsy is a Montreal-based Animation Director with over 27 years of experience in animation, video games, and visual effects. He studied traditional Film Animation at Concordia University before beginning his career as an animator on feature films and video games, eventually moving into leadership roles and heading a VFX animation department.
Over the years, Omar has worked at renowned studios including Barnstorm, Framestore, Ubisoft, and MPC, where he led a team of over 200 animators on major film projects. His credits include Animation Director for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Prey, Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers, Wonder Woman, Jumanji, and The Call of the Wild. In video games, he served as Animation Director on Ubisoft’s cinematic teams, overseeing animation for many of their flagship IPs.
Alongside his professional career, Omar has been teaching for over 18 years at Colleges including Cégep de Matane, Cégep du Vieux-Montréal, iAnimate, Dawson College, and most recently Cégep de Bois-de-Boulogne, where he continues to mentor the next generation of Artists.
